RCPE Symposium Edinburgh

Date: Friday, 24 February 2012

Venue:

The Queen Mother Conference Centre
Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
9 Queen Street
Edinburgh EH2 1JQ

Infectious diseases remain a major concern globally and locally. Antibiotic resistance and hospital acquired infection are clinical and political priorities at home and abroad, and patients with difficult and unusual infections continue to provide challenges to hospital physicians and general practitioners.

This symposium will consider all of these areas, with a range of expert speakers covering topics from viruses to protozoa, from Aberdeen to Kabul and beyond. The emphasis of the day is very much on clinical practice and the diverse range of topics is sure to offer something of relevance to all health care professionals.

The programme will be of particular interest to trainees and practising infection specialists, from both a clinical infectious diseases and a microbiological background, to acute and general physicians concerned to improve their own management of infections and to specialist nursing and other multidisciplinary practitioners with an interest in infection and its management.
