Overview

The SSP welcome all to attend their 59th Annual Meeting, this year taking place in Inverness. Please look at the programme and register now to book your place. Highlights of the event include:

  • Dr Fraser Gibb – Diabetes and Technology
  • Dr John Paul Leach – Update on diagnosis and management of epilepsy
  • Dr Peter Reid – Toxic substances and the lung
  • Dr Andrew Seaton – National antibiotic prescribing strategy

  • Dr Martin Wilson – Frailty in the elderly population

Our 2017 Fitzgerald Peel Lecture will be given by Professor Stuart Ralston on ‘Managing calcium disorders.

Trainee session:

This year's event has a dedicated free trainee session. This is being led by Dr Monica Doyle, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee and will focus on the ABC of Medical HDU care. It will cover tracheostomy care for the medical registrar, NIV and CPAP on MHDU and Vasopressors.

This event is open to all grades of medical, healthcare and scientific staff and to students. If you are unsure about eligibility, or the correct fee category, please contact the SSP member of staff responsible for the event (see Fees page).

All relevant events are approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). A certificate of attendance with CPD information will be issued to each delegate on the day. Please note - certificates can only be issued to attendees who have signed against their name on the CPD Register/Delegate List available at each event.

Membership is open to all NHS and Academic Physicians in General Medicine and its sub-specialties including associate specialists, specialist doctors and trainees.
