The 2018 Gastroenterology symposium looks at the challenges faced in day to day practice, with highly relevant lectures and interactive sessions.
We will look at biosimilar drugs in real world practice and in the future. We will examine the best approaches for dealing with gut disease in millennials – could social media and apps be the answer? We will learn from colleagues in paediatric practice about coeliac disease and immunology, and from oral medicine specialists about the relationship between the mouth and the gastrointestinal tract; an area often overlooked.
The Professor Anne Ferguson Lecture, delivered by Dr Cathryn Edwards, President of the British Society of Gastroenterology, will look at the future of gastroenterologists and what they can realistically achieve. We will look at unmet need in liver disease palliative care, the late effects of pelvic radiotherapy and its effect on the gut, and will have an interactive session of endoscopy with a focus on relevant and common problems that are met in endoscopic practice.
We welcome all interested in gastroenterology. The programme is aimed at consultants and those in expert practice to specialist nursing and general practice colleagues. We particularly welcome our training colleagues and medical students.
