GIM Training Day for SpRs/ST3+ (SES)

Overview

The GIM training days are a joint initiative of RCPE and NHS Education for Scotland (South East Scotland Region). Six training days are held at RCPE between September and June of each year. They are aimed specifically at SpRs/ST3+ trainees in South East Scotland Region.

Key topics from the GIM curriculum are covered in a two-year rolling programme.

The training day starts at 9.30 am and finishes at 4.30 pm.

A full programme with detailed timings, if available in advance, will be emailed to trainees in South East Scotland.

The dates for the 2019/2020 academic session are:

21 April 2020
3 June 2020

If you are a trainee in South East Scotland and are unsure if you should be attending the programme, please check with your Educational Supervisor. If you are eligible to attend but have not been receiving programme information from RCPE, please contact the Event Coordinator at the College, Kate Hollier; k.hollier@rcpe.ac.uk.

Fees

Attendance is free of charge to trainees in South East Scotland who are undertaking training in General Internal Medicine as part of their specialty training. There is no need to register in advance.

Unfortunately, due to pressures on room space, it is not normally possible to accommodate trainees from South East Scotland who are not undertaking GIM training, or trainees in GIM from other Regions. However, if you are interested in a particular training day please check with the organiser whether space is available, Kate Hollier; k.hollier@rcpe.ac.uk. If space is available, a registration fee will be charged for trainees from other Regions.

Further Information

Access

A wheelchair lift is provided at the rear of the College giving access to the Conference Centre and the main historic rooms. However, as a listed building, meeting rooms 4 & 5 have restricted access. For further information and assistance please contact the Event Co-ordinator responsible for the event.

Parent Room

We can provide a Parent Room at our events. If you are interested in using this facility, please contac the Event Co-ordinator for further information.
