Older adults have been disproportionally affected during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. This symposium has been designed to highlight the principles of comprehensive geriatric assessment that continue to be important during these times. It also highlights new ways of working and recent advances in therapy and care.
The talks will appeal to everyone involved in the care of older adults, from hospital specialists to community practitioners and allied health professionals. A broad range of topics will be covered including frailty, continence, stress and distress, virtual care, rehabilitation, deprescribing and a Keynote lecture on lessons learned during the pandemic.
Our aim is to improve the knowledge and confidence of all who provide care to older adults and hopefully provide some pearls of advice on assessment and management of frailty syndromes as well as providing safe care during these unprecedented times.
