This well-established, two-day course attracts trainees and consultants from across the UK and Globally. It is designed to cover important and "hot" topics and will feature an outstanding international faculty. Overall this event provides an update on the latest evidence base for the management and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver conditions.

* Please note that the "meet the expert" lunchtime sessions will only be available to those delegates who attend in person at the College. These sessions will not be part of the online stream, recorded or available within catchup.

The lunchtime "meet the expert" session*

An innovation for 2024 is the introduction of a ' Meet The Experts' breakout meeting at lunch time. Case discussions have been one of the most well received components of the course in previous years and we are really pleased to be able to offer this additional session to the delegates at the College.

Thursday 1 February - moderated by Professor Jack Satsangi, Professor Ailsa Hart, Dr Nick Kennedy and Professor Shaji Sebastian, will discuss challenges and controversies in clinical practice in IBD.

Event Delivery:

This event will be run as a hybrid event, with the option to attend the event in-person at the College or to view online* from home. Please note that there will be a mix of speakers presenting from the College and online via web-link.

This event allows the opportunity for delegates to watch the presentations live,* or at their convenience for up to 28 days following the original broadcast. Please note that talks will be available to view on catch-up* by the second working day after the live event. Delegates can continue to register for catchup access only after the live event has taken place. Please note that access closes 28 days after the original broadcast, not after the point of booking

Delegates can book for in-person, in the College attendance up until the before/day of the event, or for online only attendance * up until 23 February 2024.

The event will be available to catch-up for all delegates for 28 days after the live event. Please note the “meet the expert sessions” will not be available to those who register for online attendance. Multi-day discount – please note that there is a discount for attending both days.

In-person attendance includes: face to face engagement with the speakers during their talks and the Q&A sessions, "meet the experts" session, day catering, place at evening reception at the end of day one, networking opportunities to meet speakers and colleagues in the historic surroundings of the College, and to view our Heritage exhibition, 28 day catchup of talks

Refugee doctors – free places are available to refugee doctors who are Associate Members of the College. Associate Membership for refugee doctors is available free of charge. Please visit our website for instructions on how to join, and then apply to the Education Co-ordinator for your free place.

Cancellation policy

If you have to cancel your place within seven days of this event, we regret that we are unable to provide a refund. However, you may nominate someone else to take your place at the discretion of the event co-ordinator.

If you are no longer able to attend in-person, you can still view the event online*. We will only reimburse the in-person fee under exceptional circumstances. The event will be available to view on catch-up for 28 days after the live event, therefore, there is still opportunity to view the talks if you are not able to attend on the day.

In the event that the College is unable to host the in-person element of this event, all those registered to attend the College in-person will be reimbursed the additional in-person fee.

This advanced course is open to trainees and consultants. If you are unsure about eligibility, or the correct fee category, please contact the RCPE member of staff responsible for the event.

Please note that on occasion event programmes may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Certificates

All relevant events are approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). To receive a CPD certificate delegates must have completed the online feedback survey. The survey will close 28 days after the original broadcast of the event, with certificates being issued shortly after this.

Certificates cannot be issued after the survey has closed.

Catch-up Access

Presentations will be available to view on catchup by the second working day after the live event for 28 days. All delegates, including those attending in-person, will have access to view talks during this period. The "Meet the Expert" sessions will not be included in the catchup. These sessions will only be available live on the day for those delegates who attend in person at the College.

Photography

A professional photographer may be in attendance at this event. Photographs may be used by the College in digital and printed publicity material. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a member of staff know at the registration desk.

Access

A wheelchair lift and internal lift are in place at the College, allowing access to the conference centre and historic rooms. However, as a listed building, meeting rooms 4 & 5 have restricted access. For further information and assistance, please contact the Event Co-ordinator responsible for the event.

An induction loop system is available in the Great Hall and Conference Centre Auditorium.

We can provide a Parent Room at our events. If you are interested in using this facility, please contact the Co-ordinator for further information.
