Overview
The Evening Medical Update (EMU) on Tuesday 29 September 2020 will cover 'Hurdles in the High Dependency Unit' (see Programme for further details).
The Evening Medical Updates programme covers specialties, presentations and conditions included within the Internal Medicine Training (IMT) curriculum. Within these, we aim to cover topics from a range of clinical settings including the acute medical take, outpatients department, community care and critical care. We also have two non-clinical evening updates covering a range of topics.
Topics are covered in monthly updates between September and June of each academic year. Each EMU session consists of three 30-minute presentations.
Although aimed primarily at core trainees, Evening Medical Updates are open to all hospital doctors, GPs, other healthcare professionals, and medical students.
This Evening Medical Update will be delivered entirely online as recordings. We have asked all speakers to record their talks in advance. Delegates will be able to submit questions via Slido and we will ask speakers to address the most popular questions retrospectively and post the responses on our EMU pages.
Talks will be available to view from 18:30 on 29 September for 14 days (until Tuesday 13 October).
Due to these exceptional circumstances, external CPD credits will be issued for individual access in the same way as it is for attending at a webstream site or at the College in Edinburgh.
