Horizontal Overview SHAAP/SARN 'Alcohol Occasionals' series 2019: Tuesday 9th July 2019 - 12:30pm "Heineken in Africa": A multinational unleashed Speaker: Olivier van Beemen Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP) and the Scottish Alcohol Research Network (SARN) organise the FREE lunchtime 'Alcohol Occasional' seminars from 12:30-14:00. This extra event, over lunch at the historic Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, gives investigative journalist Olivier van Beemen the opportunity to introduce his new book, 'Heineken in Africa', debunking the myths surrounding the global number two brewing company's operations on that continent and emphasising his findings on alcohol and health-related matters, such as Heineken’s health claims, its influence on national alcohol policies and its efforts to promote heavy drinking. Programme 2018/19 Programme All of the Alcohol Occasional seminars will be run in conjunction with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and will take place from 12:30 – 14:00 at their historic premises at 9 Queen Street Edinburgh, EH2 1JQ. A professional photographer may be in attendance at this event. Photographs may be used by the College in digital and printed publicity material. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a member of staff know at the registration desk. Access As a listed building, the College has restricted disabled access. A wheelchair lift is provided at the rear of the College giving access to the main historic rooms.
