Overview
The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Observatory for Sport in Scotland are pleased to co-host this free public event examining social prescribing, opening access to sport and community leisure, and the role of community leisure in public health.
A range of experts will discuss how the health and sport sectors can work effectively together, to tackle inactivity and improve health and wellbeing.
Welcoming delegates will be Maree Todd MSP, Minister for Public Health, Women's Health and Sport. Ms Todd will offer the Scottish Government's position on social prescribing, as well as what work the Scottish Government is undertaking to ensure that the health and sport sectors can work together effectively.
Also speaking will be representatives from the Royal College of General Practitioners, the Scottish Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties, and SportScotland. Please see the programme for further details.
