Welcome All! Respiratory Units have been the Vanguard in facing up to the Covid-19 Pandemic for the last 2 years and we embrace moving to a new phase of "living with Covid-19". At last we are hopeful we may all be able to meet face to face and online to collaborate, share experience, network and gather to look forward to the future of Respiratory Medicine. This one day Respiratory Symposium is designed to be enjoyable for all general physicians, doctors of all training grades across the medical specialties, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and physician associates. And for all practising respiratory physicians and respiratory trainees! We aim to cover bread and butter topics relevant to all Respiratory Practitioners.
The first session focuses on Airways Disease, the major contributor to chronic lung condition management. An expert clinician's lifetimes experience of Managing Asthma is shared, followed by some cutting edge new science and treatment options for airways disease, followed by an in-depth deep dive into our understanding of COPD and its presentations.
The second session acknowledges the impact of Covid 19 on our recent work load and perhaps offers a roadmap out and how we co-exist moving forward.
The third session considers how we can optimally manage Lung Cancer into the 2020's, with a eye on organisation change and a national approach to Lung Cancer Detection, followed by a tour through interventional navigational bronchoscopy, and a guide to new oncology therapeutics.
The fourth session looks at Modernising Respiratory Care - Integrating services between Community and Specialist care - and to finish we will together - interactively, work through some interesting clinical cases with clear valuable learning points.
All lectures will be given in a concise, engaging and snappy manner, with an opportunity to ask questions. Attendees will leave the symposium with enhanced and refreshed knowledge directly applicable to everyday working practice.
