Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) – Friday 12 November 2021, 13:00-17:00
These two short courses will take place across two half-days and bookings are for attendance at both half-days. Please ensure that you are available for both dates before booking. Online delivery: These courses will be delivered online using Zoom, and will utilise the breakout rooms and other interactive functions. Please ensure that you are able to access Zoom and have a stable internet connection before booking for this event
Friday 12 November: Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) Course overview
Primarily aimed at respiratory consultants, physiologist, senior trainees and any physicians with an interest in NIV/OSA, this course will provide an update on current hot topics and controversies.
The course will describe and discuss the technical aspects of NIV to ensure that the procedure is successful. Topics covered include: Acute hypercapnic respiratory failure update; non COPD acute respiratory failure; Pitfalls in its use; Predicting outcomes in acute NIV; Weaning from mechanical ventilation; Domiciliary NIV in COPD; Trachesotomy in neuromuscular conditions; Cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. We will also take a look at the impact COVID-19 has had on our work.
There will be supplementary resources and videos to go alongside the live event, and these will be made available to delegates for 12 months.
