Climate change is currently the biggest threat to global health.

The foundations on which public health stand: clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food and secure shelter are at risk, and more so in low-income countries leading to worsening health inequality. Although we aim to improve health, the NHS is unfortunately part of the problem, being responsible for 4% of the UKs total carbon emissions. How as physicians can we tackle this crisis while simultaneous “fighting fires” in our workplace?

This evening medical update will discuss what positive steps we can all take to tackle the Climate Health Crisis, how this links to National Sustainability Strategy and what a future Sustainable Healthcare System may look like. We have a line-up of fantastic speakers and hope you can join us.
