Horizontal Overview We would like to invite you to join us for the next evening meeting in our PROFESSIONALISM IN MEDICINE series: Supporting Your Team Through Uncertainty and Change. Everyone working in the NHS is used to working with systems that are in flux but the COVID-19 pandemic has forced us all to deal with much more uncertainty and change than ever before. This evening we will hear from three expert speakers about how to manage these challenges. Learning Objectives: • To recognise the early signs of a system and individuals under stress • To support team members effectively whilst providing safe patient care • To harness the strengths and skills of the multidisciplinary team to improve effectiveness and well-being Chair: Dr Jane Atkinson, Acute Medicine Consultant, Recently Appointed Consultants' Committee Leading Change: what have we learned from the pandemic Dr Helen Bevan is the Chief Transformation Officer at NHS Horizons with over 25 years experience of leading change in NHS England. NHS Horizons is a source of ideas and knowledge to enable the spread of improvements at scale. The team uses a variety of tools and approaches including social movement thinking, community organising, improvement science, accelerated design and digital connectivity. It champions the role of emerging leaders, students and trainees at the forefront of radical change. Dr Bevan is acknowledged globally for her expertise and energy for large scale change in health and care. She co-ordinates an immunotherapy service across ten medical specialities and provides treatments for patients in their home and workplaces as well as traditional clinic settings.
