A celebration of 25 years of Clinical Quality Governance – Professor Aidan Halligan’s Legacy
For the 25th Anniversary of the Introduction of Clinical Governance, the RCPE Quality Governance Collaborative are hosting the above evening lecture.
To mark and celebrate Professor Aidan Halligan's achievements, and consider health governance for the future, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) Quality Governance Collaborative (QGC) will be hosting the Professor Aidan Halligan Memorial Lecture at 2024 at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and via live-stream on the 8th of February 2024 from 18:00-19:30.
The Quality Governance Collaborative considers the Professor Aidan Halligan Memorial Lecture as one of the most significant governance lectures in health presented in the United Kingdom. The Quality Governance Collaborative view this lecture as an opportunity to remember Aidan’s pioneering views on governance and particularly his ability to identify, develop and improve new governance developments in health.
Dr Peter Homa CBE will celebrate Professor Halligan’s achievements in clinical governance, the impact it is having today on future whole system governance and associated leadership challenges.
Professor Aidan Halligan was previously the head of clinical governance for the NHS in England and Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England. He played a critical role in inspiring clinicians to engage and develop clinical governance to improve the quality and safety of healthcare. To mark Aidan’s huge contribution to the field of clinical governance, the RCPE will take on the mantle of hosting the Aidan Halligan Memorial Lecture.
