The SSP welcome all to attend their 60th Annual Meeting, this year taking place in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Please look at the programme. Highlights of the event include:

The 2018 Fitzgerald Peel Lecture entitled ‘Lung cancer - past, present and future' will be delivered by Professor Marianne Nicolson, Consultant Oncologist, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Trainee session:

After a very successful session last year, this year's event will also have a dedicated trainee session. This is being led by Dr Ailsa Howie and Dr Vicky Tallentire Consultants in Acute Medicine at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh and will focus on some key non-technical skills that are under-represented in medical training and yet essential to a successful and fulfilling working life. The facilitators ask that you bring an open mind, a willingness to engage and one or two examples of challenging interactions you have encountered at work.

This event is open to all grades of medical, health care and scientific staff and to students. If you are unsure about eligibility, or the correct fee category, please contact Stephanie Hough.

All relevant events are approved for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). A certificate of attendance with CPD information will be issued electronically to individual delegates via email. Please note - certificates can only be issued to attendees who have signed against their name on the CPD Register/Delegate List available at each event and completed feedback forms have been received.

Please note that on occasion event programmes may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

The cut-off date for this allocation is 8 weeks prior to arrival which the rooms not booked will be released.

The SSP cannot provide support or assistance for spouses or family members who travel with delegates who are attending the meeting. However, for those who do have spouses or family travelling with delegates, we have suggested the following trip:
