Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP) invite you to join us online on Wednesday 9 March from 11:00-12:00 GMT for the launch of a new University of Stirling, University of Dundee and SHAAP report: Alcohol management in Deep End practices.
This research, led by Dr Andrea Mohan of the University of Dundee, and conducted in collaboration with researchers from the University of Stirling, explored stakeholders’ experiences and perceptions of the management of alcohol problems in Deep End general practices in Glasgow via the Primary Care Alcohol Nurse Outreach Service (PCANOS) model.
The PCANOS model aims to engage patients with serious alcohol problems who have not interacted with other services, and to link them to mainstream community support.
The research involved interviews with 23 stakeholders including GPs, addiction nurses and patients with a focus on views and experiences of PCANOS and community services.
The report launch will include a presentation of the findings and recommendations for policy by the researchers, and will leave time for attendees to engage in an open Q&A session and discussion.
