Speaker: Robin Howie, experienced walker and Scotsman columnist
This talk covers the delights of exploring the track beds of Scotland’s ‘dismantled railways’. Exploration of these walkways introduces a new aspect to familiar areas and will probably remind some of the audience of the delights of the train travel of our childhoods.
Howie has contributed a popular walking column to The Scotsman for more than 15 years. His latest book, discovering the joys and surprises of abandoned railway routes, is written jointly with John McGregor.
This talk is organised by the Senior Fellows Club of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
