The Royal College is delighted to be working in partnership with the Observatory for Sport in Scotland in hosting the OSS University Conference on Thursday 13 June, 2019.
The OSS was formed in 2016 as an independent think-tank working with a wide range of stakeholders to develop solutions to Scotland's health crisis by helping to analyse and shape policy and interventions that arrest decreasing levels of physical activity and community sport participation.
On 13th June, OSS is inviting all universities in Scotland to join its forum, which includes researchers from across the UK and Europe. This half-day event will feature research into Sport Participation Trends in Scotland, Social Inequality in Sport and insight from research institutes in the Netherlands and Denmark, where higher levels of general sport participation across communities has been identified as a key determinant in healthier lifestyles for all ages.
All delegates will be engaged in a workshop sharing recent and existing research across the university landscape, the first step in an OSS project to map research into sport participation, recreation and activity across Scotland, and identify gaps and opportunities to generate significant impact.
The programme will feature a buffet lunch at 12 noon, with the conference getting underway at 1pm and concluding by 4.30pm.
Tickets are free and places are limited to two per university.
